Stan and Juliette Mickelson

Today is HyperX Media’s Stan Mickelson’s 50th Birthday.  The HyperX Media office celebrated Stan’s 50th birthday with a “special surprise luncheon” at Golden Corral, planned by HyperX Media President, Alan Pohlman on Wednesday, December 14th.  Stan’s lovely wife Juliette and colleagues from Kassing Andrews joined the HyperX Media office for lunch.  Stan was a good sport about our dining choice and commented, “It was a great palette cleanser prior to the seafood buffet at Deer Valley.”

After lunch, Stan was ushered into the HyperX Media conference room that was decorated with black balloons and vinyl wall hangings with witty sayings for a few rounds of BINGO.  Stan won all 3 rounds of BINGO and the blackout round as well.  He cleaned up on prizes such as rubber floor mats, energy drinks and the highly coveted Microphone shaped AM/FM radio.  Stan only had this to say about his BINGO skills: “What can I say? I’m lucky at BINGO.”

Jeff Morgan, HyperX Media’s CEO cited, “[Stan] is coming up on his third year anniversary in January. His sales leadership has been a key to our success and growth over the last three years.” HyperX Media appreciates having Stan Mickelson as part of our team.  Thank you Stan – we celebrate you today!

HyperX Media Lunch Catered by Surefire Pizza

Surefire Pizza Brings Lunch to HyperX Media

HyperX Media & Surefire Pizza

Surefire Pizza owners, Jeffrey & Melissa Whitehead, were gracious enough to treat the HyperX Media office to some authentic Italian pizza for lunch on Wednesday, November 30th.

Jeffrey and Melissa drove out their mobile,  5,000 pound wood-fired oven and began to make Chicken Pesto pizzas, Margherita pizzas and good old fashioned, Pepperoni pizza.    It was a great way to spend the last day of November 2011.  For more  luncheon images, visit the HyperX Media Facebook Fan page.

About Surefire Pizza
Jeffrey trained and became certified under master Pizzaiolo Carmine D’Amato from Naples, Italy. After having lived in Italy for two years, Jeffrey knows what great pizza is and is determined to create the same quality product in Utah.

Melissa, the co-owner, is a rare talent with a degree in pastry arts and in finance. She knows a lot about dough. She has also spent time living in Italy, and shares a passion for great Italian pizza.

Wood-fired Oven - Hot Pizza in the Cold!

Surefire Pizza uses a Valoriani wood-fired oven imported from Italy and mounted onto a custom built trailer. Using seasoned hard wood, they fire the oven between 750-900 degrees.

It usually takes about an hour to get the oven up to temperature. Though once heated up, they’re able to cook pizzas in around 90 seconds.

Surefire Pizza’s pizza is handmade and cooked the way it’s been done in Naples for generations. The pizza is fragrant, thin, and soft with a slightly crispy crust.

Surefire Pizza uses the best imported and local ingredients we can. They use Caputo flour imported from Naples, Italy and San Marzano style tomatoes that are simply crushed with sea salt added.

They also use imported Parmigiano Reggiano and domestic “fior di latte” fresh mozzarella cheese. Their basil, pesto, and alfredo sauce are all produced locally.

HyperX Media Lunch & Learn with Social Media Club of SLC

February 2nd, 2011 / News and Events, Office Fun by admin

Even though the HyperX office AND staff smelled like Chicago Dogs and relish for days, I would say last week’s Lunch and Learn event with SMC and Da Hot Dog King was quite a success.  It was great to see you all and meet a few new faces.  I would like to thank everyone for your questions, suggestions, opinions and mostly for putting up with my favorite outspoken friend Steve Young (founder of Terra Flame) in the front corner.  Bless his heart.

We hope this was as fun and educational for you as it was for us.  We want to hold another event/discussion again soon so if you would like to be involved in any way please let us know.  I would like to hold one consistently every other month making our next event in mid March.  If you are interested in catering or have any engaging and interesting topics for discussion please email me at jessica@hyperxmedia.com.

Thanks again for joining us and Chewy sends you his love.  See you next time!
